Caerbladon’s Summer Exhibition, Round These Parts, features work by 44 artists based in Wiltshire and the South Cotswolds area. From landscape painting to evocative portraiture, pen and ink drawing to textile art, ceramics and printmaking, the work on show offers a kaleidoscopic view of life in this part of the world.
As a community interest company committed to supporting artists and individual creativity, we wanted to offer an opportunity for artists from across Wiltshire and nearby towns and villages in Gloucestershire to show and sell their work. We were delighted by the response to the Open Call and decided to feature at least one work by every artist that applied. There are many highly affordable original works and limited-edition prints on show, along with larger pieces by accomplished professional artists who are exhibiting work nationally and internationally.
The exhibition will run for a month throughout August and end on Saturday 3 September which is Malmesbury Carnival Procession Day.
Popular Malmesbury-based artist Paul Lewis is Caerbladon’s featured artist of the month, with his work in the gallery window as part of the annual High Street + Art initiative and he will be leading a Come Sketch with Us tour of Abbey House Manor Gardens 11am – 1pm on Saturday 13 August. Paul has over thirty years’ experience as a professional artist, leading painting holidays in Italy and Greece and watercolour workshops in the UK.
