Through our Pride of Place Malmesbury project, Caerbladon has been celebrating all that makes Malmesbury and the surrounding area such a special place to live, or visit.
We’re conducting a special survey to find out people’s views on what makes them proud about Malmesbury and what changes would they like to see in the town.
You can complete the survey online here
We’ve recently been invited by Persimmon Homes to manage the art scheme for Backbridge. This scheme is about how art can bring people together on Backbridge and also enable new residents to engage fully with existing cultural activities in the town.
We’re consulting with local people, including the new residents, about what they would like to see in Malmesbury in terms of arts and heritage, youth and community provision, and also what would make Malmesbury a greener and more climate friendly place.
We’ll be joined by our good friends, The Caravan Gallery, a collaboration between artists Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale based around a 1969 holiday caravan which functions as a mobile exhibition venue, a centre for research and a site for activities that engage visitors and encourage creative participation. They spent a week out and about in Malmesbury, including two days on Market Cross and at Backbridge Farm. They asked questions and took photographs, enabling us to create a new mini exhibition called Pride of Place Malmesbury at our gallery. Here’s a small selection for you to enjoy:
And feel free to email us at hello@caerbladon.co.uk or drop in any time to our gallery/art store on Market Cross.
